All embedded products are written in standard ANSI C so they are easily portable to multiple hardware platforms. All backend components and PC applications are written in Microsoft .Net utilizing the C# programming language.

Telematics Hardware

LHP Telematics supports multiple third party hardware vendors. We focus on hardware vendors that have deep experience in the OEM marketplace, specifically with heavy equipment. LHPT can sell and support hardware from the following vendors as part of an LHPT telematics implementation:

  • Phoenix International
  • Morey
  • Quake
  • STW
  • Trimble

Embedded Application - The Event Engine

The LHPT Embedded Application is an industry leading solution for event processing and correlation in telematics devices. The application is the only true hardware agnostic solution in the market which gives LHPT customers options that no other company can offer.

The Embedded Application is written in standard ansi C and has been ported to numerous embedded operating systems such as WinCE and Embedded Linux.

CAN Log Remote

CAN Log Remote adds the ability to log raw CAN messages to the Embedded Application. It can be configured to log any CAN ID and can write the files in multiple CAN formats (for example PCAN Explorer format). The CAN files can be saved to a USB stick or can be sent out from the TCU to an FTP site which can then be automatically downloaded to the engineers desktop.

Listener (Connector Software)

The Listener is the server side software that performs all communication with the devices. The Listener also sends down configuration updates to the units, processes the incoming messages against a rule set for alerting and writes the data into a database.

LHPT Utility API

The LHPT Utility API is a Microsoft .NET API built using the C# programming language. The API contains objects that encapsulte all the functionality of the Embedded Application and specific features for each piece of hardware that is supported. This API is part of a toolset that allows LHPT customers to build their own custom service tools and other applications that interact with a LHPT based telematics implementation.

MVNO Connector API

The MVNO Connector API encapsultes the API's of multiple MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) into a single API. This will allow a programmer to integrate any of the supported MVNOs data and services into a backend utilizing a single API. Currently the API supports Wyless and will be supporting OrbComm in the near future.

This product is currently in beta testing and will be available in early november 2010.

MVNO Manager

The MVNO Manager application allows an organization to utilize all the features and functionality of their MVNOs APIs. This can range from downloading usage data to setting a price plan for a SIM to scheduling a SIM to be activated at a specific time.

This product is currently in beta testing and will be available in early november 2010.

Controller Update Manager

The Controller Update Manager adds the ability to update the OS, Applications and Configurations of all CAN nodes on a piece of equipment remotely. The OEM maps out the Controllers on the equipment that are connected to the TCU and adds the controllers applications, configurations and other files into the system with versions. The Over The Air Programming (OTAP) system then manages sending down Controller updates to the TCU. The TCU can send the updates to any connected controller utilizing any of the available connectivity options: CAN, Serial, USB, ...

The Controller Update Manager is currently being developed. A beta version will be available in the first quarter of 2011.

Data Explorer

Are you trying to sift through large amount of data in a telematics application and tired of waiting for the web pages to refresh. Our engineers were, so they created the Data Explorer tool. This desktop application connects to our servers using web services and downloads all the same data you would see in the web based applications. Once the data is on the desktop you can search and manipulate it any way you want to. We have also added the ability to export the data into popular formats like excel and csv.
